The White House Inn is located in the heart of New England, approximately 9 miles from Mount Snow Ski Resort, Southern Vermont’s premiere skiing destination. Several public golf courses are within a 15-minute drive, as well as numerous lakes, rivers, and mountain trails, ideal for boating, jet-skiing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling. The proximity of the White House Inn to the region’s major metropolitan areas attracts visitors year-round. The Inn is only a 2 ½ hour drive from Boston, MA, and a 4-hour drive from New York City.

Primitive Trail to West Lake:The Trail can be accessed directly from the White House Inn at the bottom of the hill (5.9 mi., moderate).
Hoot Toot & Whistle Trail: Trailhead can be accessed at Reardon’s Crossing at the western edge of the Wilmington Historic District (3.8 mi., easy).
Mount Olga Trail:The Trail is located within Molly Stark State Park (1.8 mi., easy to moderate.)
Mount Haystack Trail: Trailhead can be accessed at Upper Dam Rd., Wilmington (5 mi., moderate).
Go Jump in the Lake!
Harriman Reservoir: Enjoy the pristine 10-mile lake perfect for summertime swimming, fishing, kayaking, picnicking, and watersports. Access points include Castle Hill Rd., Fairview Ave. boat launch & picnic area, Mt. Mills West Picnic Area, and Ward’s Beach.
High Country Marina: Rent power boats, jet skis, pontoons, kayaks, or paddle boards.

Mount Snow Golf Club: West Dover Vt. This 18-hole championship course has been named one of the top 10 resort courses in the country by SKI magazine.
Stamford Valley Golf Course: Stamford VT. A 9-hole, 36-par course with rolling fairways and a great mixture of holes.
